BTNX: Fentanyl Test Strip

Overview

The BTNX Fentanyl test strip is a colorimetric test for fentanyl that uses lateral flow immunoassay technology. Testing a sample for Fentanyl takes about 5 minutes.

Accuracy and Limit of Detection

The manufacture reports the test has an accuracy rate of 98% and a detection limit of this test is below 200 ng/mL (200 billionths of a gram).

Fentanyl Analogues

The test will indicate positive for many Fentanyl analogues such as Carfentanil, Acetyl Fentanyl, Butyryl Fentanyl, Remifentanil, Ocfentanil, Sufentanil, p-Fluoro Fentanyl, Furanyl Fentanyl, Valeryl Fentanyl, and 3-Methyl Fentanyl.

Cross Sensitivity

The manufacture reports no cross reactivity to other opiates such as Morphine and Heroin. Field experience has shown the tests may indicate a false positive for Fentanyl when testing high purity methamphetamine and MDMA.

Storage Temperature

The kit must be stored in a temperature of 2-30°C/36-86°F

The test kit contains 5 fentanyl test strips, swabs, test tubes, extraction liquid, a test tube holder, instructions, and product insert.
